Dig on Doug, Dude
Let me begin with a caveat – Doug Collins is not (yet) the head coach of the Chicago Bulls.
Sure, I'm a realist. I know these stories saying that "the deal is in place" don't come from nowhere; I'm prepared to accept that Bulls GM John Paxson and the excitable Mr. Collins have an agreement in principle, and that in all [read more...]
Beasley v Rose
The Bulls lost a lot this season. They lost 49 of the 82 games they played. They lost two head coaches in the span of four months. And they lost a lot of respect by botching the chance to sign former Phoenix Suns coach Mike D'Antoni. Yet thanks to the NBA Draft Lottery that took place on last Tuesday, the [read more...]
Blaze Squeak By Rush
In a long and excruciating game for the Chicago Rush, the team lost on a last second 18-yard field goal after losing an attempted onside kick to the Utah Blaze. The Blaze took advantage of what appeared to be a fatigued Rush team early and often en route to a 51-48 victory.
The Blaze jumped out to a 21-0 lead, but [read more...]
Derrick Rose
Rush Clinch Division
The Chicago Rush accomplished a great deal in their 72-28 victory over the Los Angeles Avengers. They clinched the Central Division with five weeks to go, clinched a bye and home playoff game, set three team records, broke out new uniforms which they should consider never taking off and proved that the best team in the Arena Football League may [read more...]
Ten Years Later…
When was the last time you went on YouTube and watched some old Michael Jordan highlights? Can you remember the smile on your face when John Paxson's three beat the Suns in the 1993 Finals? Do you still consider Phil Jackson a Bull, or has his time with the Lakers adjusted your thinking?
It has been ten years since the Bulls [read more...]
Say Yes to Edmonds
I admit I have developed a respectful disdain for Jim Edmonds over the years. He was everything the Cubs always needed but never had - a left-handed, power hitting centerfielder who catches everything in the outfield, and, oh by the way, hits for average too. Over the years, while we've been subjected to the likes of Brant Brown, Jacque Jones [read more...]
Reinsdorf Plays the Blame Game
The chairman has spoken. In an interview Monday night with the Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson, Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf didn't mince words in expressing his disapproval of Mike D'Antoni becoming the new head coach of the New York Knicks.
"I'm disappointed in him," Reinsdorf said. "I don't know what else we could've done. He chose to go to New York knowing [read more...]

Staying Positive
Thirty-two is the magic number for Chicago White Sox outfielder Brian Anderson. Ironically, Anderson's favorite sport is basketball and he said he wears 32 because his favorite player is former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson.
"I love basketball," said Anderson, "But my future is in baseball. I was always a good at basketball but my passion is baseball."
Anderson grew [read more...]

Website Poll
Poker sites for US players are somewhat hard to come by these days. Aside from the big ones, PokerStars and Full Tilt, mainly smaller, fairly unknown sites are available to Americans. It s a good idea to read a poker room review before you sign up with a site you don t know very much about.
